Manager at KPMG Singapore & No. 1 WORLD Ranking for ACCA Paper

After graduating in 1999, Sean wasted no time in enrolling for the ACCA, studying whilst serving his National Service.

Competing with candidates from 160 countries including university graduates, Sean Yang shone in the ACCA examinations in 2002, obtaining the number one world ranking for a final-level paper, “Advanced Corporate Reporting” – indeed a world-class performance!   He was also awarded the silver medal by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore for his outstanding results - number two placing in Singapore for overall performance in the last three core papers.

Asked about his achievements, he said, “Accounting is fascinating.  I’m passionate about it. It opens up very challenging career opportunities. I’m glad to have chosen TP because it has given me a strong foundation with its team of outstanding and helpful lecturers, and a very conducive study environment. ”

Sean began his career with KPMG Singapore in 2002 as an auditor. In Jan 2005, he joined KPMG London as an Assistant Manager, and was subsequently a Manager at Ernst & Young London. Now he is a Manager with KPMG Singapore in its Professional Practice Division, focusing on financial services.  He believes that working overseas has expanded his horizons by leaps and bounds. In particular, the highly competitive financial services industry in London has been a great eye-opener.
