Angeline Peh Ya Hui, 2000
Swim Strokes for the Real World
![]() | On graduation, Angeline was offered the post of Audit Assistant at KPMG, the firm she was attached to for her 12-week Student Internship Program. KPMG sponsored her ACCA studies and she obtained the qualification in 2002. Her ability to juggle work with studies is nothing new. It began in Temasek Polytechnic where she was a prominent student leader, holding key positions such as Vice President of The Computer Society and Financial Secretary of the Students’ Union. |
Angeline is currently a Corporate Advisory Manager with Nexia TS Public Accounting Corporation, overseeing internal audit clients and other corporate advisory work. Her past appointments include Regional Business Auditor with Cadbury Schweppes Asia Pacific, which required her to travel extensively in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to this position, Angeline was in the Business Risk Advisory unit of Ernst & Young, where she was involved in Sarbanes Oxley engagements and many other challenging projects.
Angeline attributes her success in the ACCA program and her career to the “unshakable foundation of accounting and finance concepts” acquired at TP. She offered an interesting analogy: “TP taught me numerous swim-strokes; learning them was hard work which I did not quite appreciate then, but thanks to the rigor, I am now able to glide confidently in the treacherous waters of the real world!”
