Disciplinary Guidelines for Breach of SIP Requirements
A. ABSENT FROM SIP/ ON-CAMPUS SESSIONS WITHOUT APPROVAL
Offences -
Absent from OR late for SIP Launch, Classroom Sessions and/or meeting with Liaison Officer.
Recommended Actions
Up to 1 week extended SIP or community work for each absence (with or without pay) and/or
Disqualified from grade of "Pass with Commendation".
B. ABSENCE FROM WORK WITHOUT APPROVAL
If a student wishes to take leave or time-off during the SIP, approval must be obtained from both the employer and TP via the relevant CM. The student must also be prepared to forgo his/her pay for the leave or time-off taken and/or work an extra day to make up for the leave/time-off taken, at the employerës discretion.
Otherwise, taking leave without approval would constitute a breach of SIP requirements.
Offences -
Taking leave or time-off without approval from either the employer and/or TP.
Recommended Actions
For unapproved leave/time-off NOT EXCEEDING 4 days, either:
- 1 week of extended SIP for each day of unapproved leave taken, without pay, up to a maximum of 4 weeks, OR
- 1 week of community work for each day of unapproved leave taken, without pay, up to a maximum of 4 weeks, OR
- A combination of 1 week of extended SIP and community work for each day of unapproved leave taken, without pay, up to a maximum of 4 weeks, OR
- Fail SIP
In addition to the above , the student shall be disqualified from the grade of Pass with Commendation.
For unapproved leave/time off EXCEEDING 4 days, the student shall be removed from the company immediately and be suspended from SIP. If the student is unable to show good reason for the unapproved leave/time off, the student shall be deemed to have failed SIP and be required to repeat the same.
C. WORK ATTITUDE AND PERFORMANCE
Offences -
Improper attire, tardiness, pilferage, poor attitude or any other offences whether or not complaints from the Employer have been received.
Recommended Actions
Where the offence is in violation of TP's disciplinary rules, the student may be referred to TP's Disciplinary Board to be dealt with and/or
- Fail SIP
D. DISMISSAL BY COMPANY
Offences -
Where a student is dismissed by a company.
Recommended Actions
The student shall be suspended from SIP immediately. If investigations show that the dismissal was warranted, the student shall be deemed to have failed the SIP and be required to repeat the same.
