The land of K-drama has more to offer than pop culture and shopping. This was what 27 students from the Diploma in Logistics & Operations Management had set to find out.
As part of the diploma’s effort to inculcate a more globalized outlook for the students, a logistics study trip to South Korea was organized from 15th June to 20th June 2008 during the mid-semester break.
In this study trip, LOM students had a rare opportunity to witness the end-to-end processes of the automobile industry when they visited Hyundai Motors Company and its logistics arm, Glovis Logistics.
The students also cruised and learnt about one of the newest port in North Asia- The Pyeong Taek Port.
One of the highlights for the students in the trip was an opportunity to interact with Korean students doing similar logistics specialization from the Korea Aerospace University.
Besides the study visits, the students had also the opportunity to immerse in the rich culture and history of Korea by trying their hands on making Kimchi and donning the traditional Korean dress, Hanbok.
To sum it all, one of the senior students, Dollyann, has this to say: “I’m glad I went for the trip because I enjoyed myself & made friends with the juniors too. One holiday I will never forget!”
