In LOM, we believe in learning through industrial visits.

The students, accompanied by the lecturers (Mr Foo, Ms Oh and Mrs Gan), boarded a chartered bus and set off for half-day field trip to SingPost Main Office in Paya Lebar.

SingPost has more than 60 post offices, about 80 authorised postal agencies, close to 200 Self-service Automated Machines (SAMs), more than 660 stamp vendors and over 800 postboxes located throughout Singapore.

The group of 25 was introduced to the business units of SingPost and the service offerings by Ms Chin, corporate communication manager. Mr. Alex Khor, Assistant Vice President from the Logistics Business Division also gave a hearty exchange on what real logistics encompasses. The visit was concluded with a tour of the courier operations at SingPost Logistics Center where the students saw first hand, behind the scene operations of the parcel delivery business. It was indeed a field trip that speaks more than a thousand words.
