Industrial Visit to Seagate-UPS on 25 April 2008

Diploma in LOM students and staff with the management of Seagate and UPS.

To learn beyond the classroom and engaged the industry is what Diploma in LOM wants to achieve.  On 25th April 2008, 32 students, accompanied by 4 lecturers visited UPS Supply Chain Solutions operations in Airport Logistics Park of Singapore (ALPS).  UPS is a 3PL service provider of disk drive manufacturer, Seagate.  During the industrial visit, the participants were briefed on the supply chain initiatives by both companies that successfully shortened the fulfillment time for the disk drives across the entire supply chain.  The students also witnessed the excitement that took place in the 5000 square feet air-conditioned warehouse.  It was a fruitful industrial visit that gives much insight of the hard-disk supply chain for LOM students.
