The Course

Companies across all businesses are extending their geographical reach and influence. They need trained people who understand the nature of logistics & supply chain in an ever-connected world. The Diploma in Logistics and Operations Management trains professionals who will excel in today's dynamic business environment.  

The Course provides a strong business foundation in the Freshman year. In the Junior and Senior years, you will be equipped with business knowledge on how companies manage their physical products and services through subjects like Management Science, Management Accounting & Finance, Operations Management, Material Management, Quality Management and Purchasing Principles & Practice, Specialised knowledge on logistics will be introduced through subjects like Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Transport Management and Distribution Centre Management. We also offer three areas of focus in the Senior year where you can choose from a pool of electives.  In order to draw on the knowledge and skills you have acquired from the Course and be exposed to the reality of the working world, you will be required to participate in the Student Internship Programme as well as undertake a major industry-based project.  

The emphasis of the Course is guided by a practical approach that provides students with a good foundation in business studies together with an in-depth knowledge of logistics. You will also develop team-building, problem-solving and human relations skills.

The field of logistics and operations is large and opportunities for employment are available in many business organisations. Any company that is involved in making, storing and/or selling a product, or providing a service, requires personnel with knowledge and skills in logistics and operations. The employment opportunities and career prospects are thus abundant in many industries and organisations.

You can look forward to a fruitful and challenging career in the logistics industry or in the operations of many organisations. It also enables you to undertake greater challenges of supply chain management in a global market. There are many career opportunities in the service and manufacturing industries for graduates as purchasing officers, inventory and production planners, master schedulers, customer service officers, warehousing executives, freight forwarding executives, shipping administrators, logistics executive and supply chain analyst.

Minimum Entry Requirements

English Language (EL1)*Grades 1-6
Mathematics (E or A)Grades 1-6
Any three other subjects, excluding CCA                Grades 1-6

To be eligible for selection, you must also have sat for at least one of the following subjects:

Art/Art & Design, Business Studies, Combined Humanities, Commerce,Commercial Studies, Economics, Geography, History, Higher Art, Higher Music, Introduction to Enterprise Development, Literature in English/Chinese/Malay/Tamil, Music or Principles of Accounts.

*Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/Unified Examination Chinese (UEC) holders must have a minimum of grade 6 for the relevant English Language subject (e.g. Bahasa Inggeris).
