At Temasek Polytechnic, she focuses on Business and Corporate Communication, teaching on both full-time and part-time courses. She taught English language and Literature and has been involved in testing, instructional design and teacher training and supervision. She has always loved the broadcast industry and was freelancing with SBC even then. She was host of 'Life & Times', a documentary series featured on Channel 5. Felicia was with SBC & then RCS for various radio stations - 92.4FM, 90.5FM and NewsRadio 93.8. In her years with radio, she has hosted 'live' talkshows, presented the news, packaged reports, researched & narrated information capsules, written news reports and hosted a very successful morning drive time show with Brian Richmond. She was also the Assistant Programme Director for NewsRadio 93.8 before returning to teaching as a career. Before joining TP, Vera was with a local bank, handling a whole range of corporate communications functions there. | Ethan Guo Lecturer Formerly known as the “brains” behind ‘AM NewsTalk’, the multi-talented Ethan Guo joined MediaCorp’s NewsRadio 938 in 2001, and was immediately given the responsibility of producing for the prime morning drive time show. A definite “go-getter” with a never-say-die attitude, Ethan secured many exclusive interview subjects for NewsRadio. The ‘Talkback’ segment Ethan produced also received mention by then Prime Minister Goh in his National Day Rally speech, and was later featured by Reuters. Ethan has a BA in Media Studies from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and a Diploma in Mass Communication from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. He won 7 awards in the 3 years he was with MediaCorp Radio, including the prestigious Radio Star Award for dedication and going beyond the call of duty. ![]() | Gilbert Rozario Lecturer After graduating with a degree in Communications (Broadcasting) from Pittsburg State University, Gilbert stayed in the US and worked in the broadcast industry. He worked as a producer/presenter at a radio station, KRPS Pittsburg for about 5 years before moving to a domestic airline where he trained employees at the reservations centre on communication skills. He returned to Singapore in 1998 and lectured at the School of Film and Media Studies in Ngee Ann Polytechnic. He took a year’s break from lecturing before joining Temasek Polytechnic in 2005. | Jasmine Teo Lecturer Jasmine spent three years in the telecommunications industry, specializing in the marketing and sales of mobile phones, in both business and retail environments. Her desire to be an academic brought her to the Institute of Technical Education where she spent three years as a lecturer imparting her knowledge and sharing her experience in the area of retail studies. Jasmine holds a Master in Mass Communications from Nanyang Technological University and a Bachelor in Marketing and Media from Murdoch University, Western Australia. ![]() | Ng Kwee Hoon Lecturer A graduate of the University of Missouri, the oldest and one of the top journalism schools in the US, Kwee Hoon also has a Master's from Syracuse University. She was awarded the Fujitsu Asian Scholarship in 1986 to pursue a Master's course in Japanese Business Studies, which included internships with NHK, the Japanese public broadcasting corporation, and TV Asahi, a commercial station. Several of her documentaries have been nominated for international awards. Her documentary "Through the Valley" won the TCS award and a condensed version of the same story won an Asian TV award. Kwee Hoon worked as a producer with the local TV station for 12 years before joining Temasek Polytechnic. ![]() | T. Selvan Lecturer Selvan has worked in both the broadcast and print media. His career in broadcast journalism spans the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation/Television Corporation of Singapore/MediaCorp News (Channel News Asia). Prior to joining the division, Selvan was with the news desk of SPH newspaper, Project Eyeball. He has covered many significant events during his long career as a journalist, including the cable car accident in the 1980’s, the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit meetings and ASEAN regional conferences. He also produced a documentary on the political situation in Fiji in the aftermath of a coup in the late 1980s. Selvan has accompanied Singapore's cabinet ministers on their many overseas trips to different parts of the globe. He has also travelled to the Middle East in a Charlie 130 transport plane as part of the Singapore Armed Forces' mission to drop off medical supplies in Amman, Jordan and ferry Sri Lankan refugees displaced by the war, back to their homeland during the Gulf War in 1990. ![]() | Teh Wai Lin Lecturer Wai Lin began her career in the media industry working as the in-house staff newsletter reporter for Singapore Broadcasting Corporation. From print journalism, Wai Lin moved on to be a broadcast journalist with the English News Division of Television Corporation of Singapore reporting on local news. She presented the afternoon news bulletins and the special news programme Highlights from Parliament. She was also an anchor editor on the English news bulletins. Wai Lin later joined the Breakfast TV news programme AM Singapore where she anchored the morning news bulletins and produced stories for the regular show segments on family life, education and home decoration. As a news presenter and reporter, Wai Lin conducted outside broadcast “live” reporting and interviewing for the programme. | Teh Yee Lin Lecturer Yee Lin specializes in the area of digital media; mainly in animation, graphic design and web design. After graduation, she worked as a E-learning/Multimedia Developer with the Ministry of Education. ![]() | Virginia Wai Tuen Cheng Lecturer Born in the then British Colony of Hong Kong, Virginia received her first degree with Honours in English and Personnel Management from the Chinese University of Hong Kong . She later migrated to the United Kingdom and got her Postgraduate Diploma with Commendation in Management Studies from the University of North London. Following her husband's career move, she re-located to Singapore with her family and has recently completed her Master in Education programme from the University of Sheffield . After obtaining her first degree, Virginia was engaged in teaching, public relations, human resources and community education in both the private and public sectors in Hong Kong including a secondary school, a public commission, an electricity utility company, and a building construction company. Her migration to the United Kingdom saw the change of her career as a domestic engineer until she came to Singapore in 1997. She worked as an Administrative Officer in a tertiary institute before joining TP as a Lecturer in Communication Skills. While working as a Lecturer, Virginia enjoys meeting the young people who define the future with their enormous potential and bountiful energy.
