		Dr H C Matthew Sim Course Manager, Diploma in Business Dr H C Matthew Sim received his PhD from University of South Australia, his BE (First Class Honours) from University of Queensland (Australia), and his MBA from National University of Singapore. Matthew has a CDAF from Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (UK), THEC and SEDA (UK). Matthew is a full member of Singapore Institute of Directors. He was a Chartered Marketer with The Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK). Matthew was a diplomat in the Singapore Embassy in Yangon (Myanmar) and Centre Director of Singapore Trade Development Board Office in Yangon. He worked for Singapore Trade Development Board (TDB) (now IE Singapore), TDB Holdings Ltd (an investment holding GLC), and Singapore TDB Consulting. Matthew served Temasek Polytechnic Co-operative Society Limited as Chairman, Vice Chairman and Director of the Board. Matthew was Director of the Board of a private company. 		Mrs Lee-Chang Yang Section Head Armed with B.A. (1st Class Honours) in Psychology from St Mary’s University, Canada, and a Master of Science in Human Resource & Industrial Relations from Rutgers, State University of New Jersey, USA, and more than 15 years of Human Resource work experience, Lee-Chang Yang joined Temasek Polytechnic in April 1996. Her prior work experiences ranged from being a management consultant in a leading executive search firm to a group human resource manager of a local holding company with business activities in logistics, retailing and service industries. 		Mrs Linnet Ong-Foong Section Head Linnet is a B.A. graduate from the University of Singapore. Linnet is currently a Section Head of the Diploma in Business. She also has a Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from the Singapore Institute of Management and has more than 10 years of working experience in the area of Human Resource Management. She was the Human Resource Manager of an MNC, before joining the teaching profession. 		Mrs See-Lee Philomena Section Head Philomena joined the Diploma in Business team with a B.Soc Sc (Honours) from the University of Singapore and a Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management, Singapore Institute of Management. She teaches Human Resource Management, Organisational Behaviour and Principles of Management. She has many years of working experience in human resource management covering diverse sectors including manufacturing, professional services, transportation and banking. Her natural and keen interest in dealing with people makes her enjoy what she is doing, especially interacting with students. 		Dr Anthony Ang Principal Lecturer Anthony has lectured in Temasek Business School, Temasek Polytechnic, for over ten years. He is one of the pioneer team members who started with the Polytechnic in 1990, when as Course Manager he developed from scratch the Diploma in Operations Management. The course is reputed to be the first of its kind in this part of the world for a tertiary educational institution. Between 1994 and 1999, he was TQM Manager, reputedly the first such appointment in an educational environment in this part of the world, and was responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of the Temasek Quality System. Apart from developing training materials, he was an internal trainer and consultant in TQM, and started the first organisational climate survey and student satisfaction survey. He was instrumental in steering Temasek Polytechnic to attain the Singapore Quality Class award in March 1999. He has had on numerous occasions been engaged as external trainer/consultant, to share his experience and research in quality and HR-related subject areas, by a number of organisations in Singapore and the region. He has also served as SQA Assessor as well as SQC Assessor by SPRING (Standards, Productivity and Innovation Board) Singapore on several occasions. One of his current professional activities includes peer review of articles for several academic journals of international repute. Before becoming an academic, Anthony held senior management positions in commerce and industry, with overall responsibility for accounting and finance, corporate planning, human resource management and development, and general administration. The earlier part of his career included nearly 5 years as systems analyst/ programmer in a mainframe environment. Anthony is a BAcc graduate from the University of Singapore and is a CPA (Singapore). He also has a Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from the Singapore Institute of Management, and a M.A. in Human Resource Development from George Washington University, USA. He is qualified as a Chartered Secretary, ICSA, UK, and he won the Ralph Bell Prize in 1988. He obtained his Doctor of Business Administration from University of South Australia in 2002. 		Mr Boh Thye Joon Lecturer Boh Thye Joon graduated from the University of Singapore in 1978 and did a post graduate course in Business Management in Monash Mount Eliza Business School, Australia, in 1986. He has 16 years experience in managing companies and international business in the Asia-Pacific region. He was the Managing Director of an Indonesian conglomerate. His working experience ranges from public-listed paper and printing companies to Samsung Co Ltd trading in food, electronics, chemicals and general merchandise. Thye Joon has wide experience in restructuring companies and improving their performances. He was instrumental in listing his previous paper and printing company on the Singapore Stock Exchange. He is a consultant to few other companies and was an external consultant with the SPRING (Standards, Productivity and Innovation Board) Singapore. He has conducted business management seminars and training workshops in conjunction with the respective Chambers of Commerce in Vietnam and Myanmar. He is an Associate Consultant with Entrepreneurship Centre, Temasek Polytechnic. He is also a grassroots leader in the East Coast GRC and has received an award from the People's Association for his voluntary service to the community. 		Mrs Goh-Ng Serene Lecturer Serene received her Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) from National University of Singapore. She is currently a Lecturer teaching Organisational Behavior and Principles of Management in Temasek Business School, Temasek Polytechnic. Serene brings with her more than 10 years of both private and public sector experience in various roles including sales, international marketing, business development, finance, treasury functions, human resource management including setting up and managing a consultancy firm for Temasek Holdings affiliate in Jakarta. Prior to joining Temasek Polytechnic in 2006, Serene worked as a HR generalist with the Singapore operations and moved on to a specialist role as the Asia Pacific Regional Manager for Compensation and Benefit for an American MNC. In between, she was also posted to head the Indochina operations based in Bangkok on a short term assignment. 		Mr Leong Chun Chong Senior Lecturer Leong Chun Chong holds a B.Bus, Curtin University, Australia, a MBA from University of Dublin, Eire, a Certified Diploma in Accounting & Finance from the ACCA, UK, and a Diploma in Marketing from CIM, UK. Chun Chong is a member of the pioneer batch of Lecturers who started Temasek Polytechnic. Chun Chong is currently a Senior Lecturer with the team and concurrently advising in the market development of The Tourism Academy@Sentosa. Prior to this, he spent 4 years to start and run the international students office under the Registrar’s Office and later the International Relations and Industry Services Department. Before becoming a full time academic, he had varied industrial experiences in the manufacturing and construction industries holding senior production, marketing and general management positions. He was the CEO with Eastern Partek Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of the Natsteel Group of Companies, and concurrently held several directorships of companies within the group before joining Singapore Polytechnic and shortly after, Temasek Polytechnic. Chun Chong was awarded an AOTS scholarship for 5 ASEAN countries in 1981 to study Japanese Factory Management for Medium-scale Industries (FMMI) in Osaka, Japan, during the Fukuda government. Chun Chong is actively involved in the executive councils of Marketing Institute of Singapore and the Irish Graduates Association of Singapore (IGAS). 		Mrs Lim-Chan Pek Lin Senior Lecturer Mrs Lim joined the academia in 1987. She served as the Course Manager in charge of the Diploma in Business at Temasek Polytechnic from 1995 to 2004. Recent projects that Mrs Lim has been involved with include the conduct of Performance Appraisal workshops, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, the People Developer Programme and the Singapore Quality Award. As part of her community involvement, Mrs Lim serves actively as a Family Court Mediator. Her other professional areas of interests include supervisory and managerial training and Problem-Based Learning (PBL). PBL is a key learning approach adopted by the Temasek Business School, Temasek Polytechnic, and Mrs Lim coordinates the School’s initiative in said area. Mrs Lim received her Bachelor of Arts (Commerce) from DePaul University and the Master of Arts in Human Resource Development from the George Washington University in the United States. 		Mr Benny Loke Senior Lecturer Benny Loke holds a B.A. from the University of Singapore and a M.A. in Human Resource Development from George Washington University, USA. Prior to joining Temasek Polytechnic, Benny was the Personnel & Administration Manager, of Singapore Electronics and Engineering Ltd from 1990 to 1991 and was the Group Personnel Manager of QAF LTD from 1989 to 1990. From 1987 to 1989, Benny was a Lecturer with Ngee Ann Polytechnic. From 1980 to 1986, Benny was a Senior Personnel Officer with ESSO Singapore. 		Mrs Loy-Pang Kiah Jee Lecturer Kiah Jee holds a Master of Education from the University of Sheffield, UK, Bachelor of Business Administration (Second Class Upper Honours) from the National University of Singapore, Graduate Diploma in Personnel Administration and Diploma in Training and Development Management from the Singapore Institute of Management. Kiah Jee is currently a Lecturer with the Diploma in Business course in Temasek Polytechnic. Kiah Jee has been in the academic field for more than ten years. Her areas of specialisation include Human Resource Management and Human Resource Development. Kiah Jee has vast industry experience in the human resource management, training and educational fields. Prior to joining Temasek Polytechnic, she was the Human Resource Manager of a pharmaceutical company. She also has many years of practical experience in the areas of training consultancy, and managing the human resource function and training activities of companies in the hotel and food & beverage industries. Besides teaching final year elective subjects in the area of Human Resource Management, she also teaches core subjects such as Principles of Management and Organisational Behaviour. 		Mr Nah Yam Lim Lecturer Nah Yam Lim was an Air Traffic Controller in the air force before he became a Branch Head with the air manpower department. From the manpower department of the air force in the 1980s, he switched to the human resource department with Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) in the 90s. He holds a BBA degree from the University of Singapore and a MBA from the University of Warwick, UK. He is the founder of the TP Juggling Club (http://www.come.to/tpjuggling), probably the only one among tertiary institutions in Singapore. “Juggling gives restless students something to focus on. It is analogous to the various roles we have to learn. One juggles for life. Juggling is the same as time management. We juggle everyday”. No wonder juggling is Yam Lim’s favourite hobby. 		Mr Vincent Ng Lecturer Vincent Ng holds a MSc from University College London, University of London, a BSc from National University of Singapore and a GDMM (Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management) from Singapore Institute of Management. He was a member of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) from 2001 to 2003. He is currently a Lecturer teaching International Business and Entrepreneurship subjects in Temasek Business School, Temasek Polytechnic. Prior to joining Temasek Polytechnic, Vincent was a Regional Sales Manager with an US MNC in the specialty chemical business. He also had the experience of running a local trading company for a Malaysia-based company in Singapore. He was also involved in the establishment of a local franchise business. Prior to that, he worked for Sony and was posted to Sony HQ in Japan for a short-term assignment of 3 months. His industry experiences encompass sales and marketing fields where he was involved in handling regional distributors, dealing with overseas suppliers and manufacturers, sales management and also face-to-face selling with key account customers.
