In 1997, Temasek Polytechnic and Kelly Services jointly set up Singapore’s first staffing support centre operated and managed by Diploma in Business students. KSCC is located within Temasek Polytechnic and since 1997 Temasek Polytechnic is the first and only polytechnic with this special arrangement. The Temasek Polytechnic-Kelly Services working relationship has been a great success.
All Diploma in Business students specialising in Human Resource Management (HRM) will undergo a 12-week modular attachment programme at KSCC. These students will be trained on Kelly Services’ business and work processes and they will have hands-on experience during their attachment. Each Diploma in Business student will take on the role of a Student Consultant and experience a similar job scope as that of a permanent Staffing Consultant at Kelly Services. Duties would include screening of phone calls, screening of resumes, arranging and conducting of interviews. This attachment at KSCC provides students with very valuable experience and exposure to real work-life situations which are not attainable from classrooms.
